Blurb: In Plaid Nights, men in kilts are as varied as they are hot. Whether they’re caber tossers, rugby players, Highland warriors, country dancers, or time-traveling vampires, they’re up for surprises and sexy good times.

Rob Rosen starts us off with humor in “Tossing It.” Contemporary men discover love in unexpected places in “Whiskey and Want” by Megan McFerren, “Some Like It Scot” by Julia Talbot, “Perfect Working Order” by Elizabeth Coldwell, and “Off-Kilter” by Racheline Maltese & Erin McRae. We get a taste of the paranormal in “Sir WW” by Angelique Voisen, “Feumaidh Mi Ruith (I Have to Run)” by Missouri Dalton, and “Kilt in the Closet” by Logan Zachary. And we’re treated to forbidden love in historicals “Hunting for a Highlander” by Lila Mathews, “A Time to Heal” by Anna Mansel, and “As Fair Art Thou, My Bonny Lad” by McKay.

In these stories, some tartan-clad men wear their kilts in the “traditional manner,” while others are less daring. But all find love, and of course, a happy ending—especially at night, when the plaid comes off.

Review: Fun times with gorgeous men wearing kilts and speaking with sexy accents. You get some pretty good stories by some amazing authors with this book. I only found one that really didn’t get my engine running but all together it is a funny book with some hot sex.

Hungry for some sizzling meat, Greg stops at a Scottish highlands festival and runs into his college friend, Tom. Their bellies sated, they wander away from the festivities, and find themselves beneath the kilt of the brawny, ginger-haired caber toss winner. More than poles of wood get tossed in the end as the two friends become much more than that.

Two college friends at a Scottish highlands festival find themselves beneath the kilt of the brawny, ginger haired caber toss winner. More than poles of wood get tossed in the end as the two friends become much more than that. Greg and Tom are having fun, but the fun doesn’t really start until they find out that they both want the same thing.

I got a kick out of this. Greg had no idea Tom was gay but damn talk about a fun day and night. It was cute, sexy and I hope for a long time future for these two. It was a fun read.

They say that you can’t ever really go home again, and Andrew is prepared for that to be true. After years in New York City, he returns to Texas for a friend’s wedding, and finds himself wrangled into a kilt to complement his buddy’s Scottish heritage. While the rest of the group are enjoying the usual bachelor party festivities, he meets a man who’s just as interested in Andrew—and what’s under his kilt—as Andrew is in reminding himself just how friendly country boys can be.

Andrew returns home to Texas for the bachelor party of a friend with Scottish heritage. He finds himself in a kilt and a dive bar, where he meets a mutual acquaintance who helps to remind him how simple country life can be.

Never been to a wedding where they wear kilts but it does sound hot. And Andrew with Jake was extremely hot and sexy. It was a sexy read and pretty damn good.

Aleck has always kept his attraction to Kendrick, a fellow clan member, a secret. Exposure could mean exile, which would be a death sentence in the Grampian Mountains of Scotland. So when Aleck’s secret is accidently revealed to Kendrick during a hunting trip, he worries that his deepest fear will become reality. Then again, Kendrick might have a secret of his own.

Wow I have got to say it, this was freaking hot. I was surprised that these two men hit it off so the way they did but it was a good read. If I was in Aleck’s shoes, then I would have been frightened also. However I am glad it turned out the way it did, because these two were smoking hot.

plaidnightsaneliquevoisen185Sir WW by Angelique Voisen ♥♥♥♥3.5 Hearts
The Scots call him a hero. The English call him a rebel. They want his head on a spike and they’ll eventually get their wish, but not for many years to come. It doesn’t matter to me what folks call him, though. When he comes to me in the cover of night, without the eyes of the world constantly looking, judging, or making up lies, he’s simply Sir WW. This is our untold tale.

Addicted to each other, an immortal time-travelling vampire and a Scottish hero meet secretly each night for a kinky dalliance. How long can their affair last, before reality rams its ugly head?

I have read many stories by Angelique and I have to tell you that they always have so much humor in them that you will laugh through most of it. With this story it was the blurb itself that had me in stitches. I got a big kick out of this and look forward to reading more by this author. I do hope that she puts this into a longer story with more to read.

plaidnightsmissouridalton185Feumaidh Mi Ruith (I Have to Run) by Missouri Dalton ♥♥♥3Hearts
Cary Vaughn has found himself on the wrong side of a lot of people. When he ends up in Edinburgh hiding from one of those people he meets a tall Scotsman in a bar and goes home with him. He spies a small fortune on a bookshelf and takes a chance by stealing it—but he’s not the only one with an ulterior motive.

Stealing from Marcas wasn’t a plan, but now all Cary can do is run. Who the hell steals from a cop? Cary stole something from Marcas and Marcas sure did get paybacks. In more ways than one.

This one was a blast to read and so damn funny. I love a good spanking but boy this poor kid had to sit on it all the way. It was a funny, sexy and damn hot little story. I had a great time with it.

plaidnightsjuliatalbot185Some Like it Scot by Julia Talbot ♥♥♥3 Hearts
Riley might be Scottish, but he only wears his kilt on special occasions since he moved to Texas, a fact his friend Jeremy bemoans often, at least in private. Jeremy also wishes he knew how to move their friendship to the next level, but he’s never gotten up the nerve. It takes a disastrous rugby game, some good old Texas grub and some creative kilt use on Riley’s part to make things happen, but can the boys make their relationship last?

Men in a kilt, hot damn. I got a kick out of Jeremy. He sure did get what he wanted and so much more. I had fun with this story and look forward to seeing more by this author. Jeremy sure gets what he wishes for in spades. I had a blast reading this.

plaidnightsannamansel185A Time to Heal by Anna Mansel ♥♥♥2.5 Hearts
Conall lives for his clan. His sense of duty and love of family has put him in harm’s way more times than he can count in his seventeen years, but also got him out of it. He follows his Da’s lead in everything…even when it leads to murder and war. When Conall wakes up after one such battle in the care of a stranger, with his Da nowhere near, he’s forced to change his ideas about whom he can trust.

A Scottish Highland warrior wakes up to find himself in the care of a witch. Their clans are at odds, they can’t trust each other…but their survival depends on them working together. And despite their best intentions, working together may lead to something more.

This one was a bit strange for me and I wasn’t really sure what to think. It was a good read, but not for me.

plaidnightsmckay185As Fair Art Thou, My Bonny Lad by McKay ♥♥♥3 Hearts
Adie Gilchrist is satisfied with being a bachelor shopkeeper, until a handsome immigrant from Scotland arrives in the port town of Wilmington in the North Carolina Colony and begins pursuing him. Adie’s quiet life is changed in ways he’s not certain he wants. Niall McAllister wants a fresh start in the Colonies, but Adie isn’t convinced they can build a life together without consequences if their secret is discovered. When illness threatens to tear them apart forever, Adie has to decide which he wants more: safety or love.

I am not much in to historical stories. Or I should say older stories. It was a good read but definitely goofy. I had a blast with it and really like Adie.

plaidnightsloganzachary185Kilt in the Closet by Logan Zachary ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
Ghost in your closet? Who are you going to call? The sexiest real estate agent in the business. He has a past in the haunted house and once he enters, he just may stay forever. Will the past mystery be repeated or will they be forced to forge ahead into the future? Solve the mystery before you are kilt in the closet.

When a ghost scares his nephew, Jeff enlists the aid of his real estate agent to help him solve the mystery. But a sexy body and a kind heart may just get them kilt, and not by wearing a plaid skirt.

Now this story was a blast to read. I love the paranormal tone to it and had a blast with it. It was a fun read. I would love for Logan to put this into a longer story, so Logan takes a hint. I want more with these guys in it. Awesome book and can’t wait to read this particular story again. I did feel bad for Nathan, considering the ghost was related.

plaidnightselizabethcoldwell185Perfect Working Order by Elizabeth Coldwell ♥♥♥3 Hearts
Gary thinks he knows all the personality quirks of his best friend from university, until Miles walks into a quiet English pub in his Scotland Rugby shirt and kilt. Miles’ new-found confidence and good looks prove irresistible to Gary, who hasn’t seen him for five years. When Miles confides to Gary his confusion about his sexuality, can Gary help him overcome his anxiety about being attracted to men? And will he find out whether everything beneath Miles’ kilt really is in perfect working order?

I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by this author. It was a fun read and had some pretty good hits in it.

plaidnightsmaltesemcrae185Off-Kilter by Racheline Maltese & Erin McRae ♥♥♥3 Hearts
When Eric attends a Scottish Country Dance class with his friend Amara to help her hook up with her crush-of-the-month, the computer science grad student instead finds himself lusting after their very patient dance instructor, Rob. While Eric swears he’s not just interested in how great Rob’s legs look in a kilt, that doesn’t stop him from scoping out Rob’s Facebook page and following him to the local Highland Games in hopes of scoring a date.

This was a cute and funny little story. I had a blast reading it and look forward to reading more by these authors. Amara’s little crush just happens to be Eric’s crushes daughter. It was a story full of laughs that is for sure.

Overall
Men in kilts getting very lucky with other sexy men. It was a fun book that I had a blast with. I must admit that even though I do like looking at them, I am not sure about reading about them. I love to read stories that are in the present tense or even in future times, but this little anthology was fun.

I had a blast and would definitely recommend reading it.
